One point of view that would be relevant to Joke-ism is the concept/belief that laughter is a symptom/sign of "no mind". When one is in the midst of laughter you'll find that there is no thoughts going on. True laughter is genuine and of the moment. That is why comedy is so very difficult to produce because the hoped for end product is utterly of the moment. Often in eastern cultures one encounters the archetype of the "laughing saint/sage". He/she is an awakened entity whose mind is untattached to the thoughts going through it and thus in this "untouched" state, laughter without outside causality is produced. Joyfulness without cause.
As for the statement that you didnt know anyone who did well approaching life from the viewpoint that it is nothing but a joke, I again refer you to the example of the laughing sages. As for the final joke being that life is a joke, that is certainly been discussed. I wouldnt refer to it as "absurdism"(a purely western term.)More like what you wind up with when putting "reality" thu the process of elimination. All concepts including "joke" are definitions created by the mind. Other definitions include "real" and "unreal." To be sure many who have gone thru this process often find there lives more precise, simple, interesting and effective.
As to who wrote this joke, you must start with the witness of the joke. The same witness who notices the "I am."

I will spell it "Joke-ist" because "Jokist" is too close to "Jock itch."
A joke is actually more structured, short, and meaningful than the way I see the world. I have always believed that life is howling, chaotic insanity. However I doubt I could form an art movement around that.
A recent archaeological discovery may throw some light on the origins of human civilization and religion. This article has some interesting details: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sciencetech/article-1157784/Do-mysterious-stones-mark-site-Garden-Eden.html

I enjoyed the story Brian. I am old enough to remember actually going out into the forest to cut down a Christmas tree......snow, sleds, hot chocolate, Kelly and Amy in a carboard box and all!

We had an awful experience with Mad Science of Long Island. They took the "Mad" out and sent a boring, verbally abusive instructor and then repeatedly stood by her as a choice because the "schools didn't complain."

Why would the schools complain! The teachers get a much needed break for an hour, do you think they'd want to jeopardize that time by complaining about an instructor that sneers, grits teeth and blatantly tells kids to shut up.

Glad we didn't have any danger incidents though, thanks for the warning.
